Winter/Spring 2027 Homeschool Enrichment
EARLY BIRD PRICING UNTIL DECEMBER 15, 2026!
Fables, Friendship & Storytelling
Christian Homeschool Arts & Humanities | Castle Rock, Colorado
Join us Friday mornings, January through April 2027, for a wonderful semester of faith, friendship, literature, creative writing, visual arts, and theater! This term’s theme, Fables, Friendship & Storytelling, will bring beloved stories to life as students explore the art of storytelling through classic fables and animal tales, artistic expression, and theatrical performance.
Our classes are designed to complement one another, connecting what students are reading, writing, creating, and performing.
What Students Will Experience
Scripture & Prayer
We'll begin each morning by gathering in Scripture and prayer, setting our hearts and minds on God before starting our day. This semester, we'll also explore selected Proverbs, reflecting on wisdom, friendship, kindness, and Christian character.
Visual Arts
Students will explore the beautiful world of storybook illustration while learning foundational art techniques, including watercolor painting, pen-and-ink drawing, character illustration, and more! They'll create original artwork and illustrations to accompany their own stories and fables.
Literature & Writing
Through Arnold Lobel's delightful stories, Aesop's fables, and other classic animal tales, students will discover what makes a wonderful story. We'll explore characterization, dialogue, narrative structure, and the lessons found in fables as students develop their writing skills and create their own original short stories and fables.
Theater
Students will build confidence and creativity through acting exercises, improvisation, vocal expression, movement, and dramatic storytelling. They'll learn foundational theater skills while working together toward our special end-of-term Frog and Toad showcase!
A Special End-of-Term Showcase
We'll celebrate the conclusion of our semester with a special Frog and Toad theatrical showcase for family and friends! Students will have an opportunity to share their performance skills, and we'll also display their artwork and original writing from the semester. It's a wonderful way to celebrate all they've learned and created together!
There is no additional fee to participate in the showcase. The performance date, time, and additional details will be announced once enrollment is finalized.
